Based on the true story, AMERICAN TRAITOR: THE TRIAL OF AXIS SALLY follows the life of American woman Mildred Gillars (Meadow Williams) and her lawyer (Al Pacino), who struggles to redeem her reputation. Dubbed "Axis Sally" for broadcasting Nazi propaganda to American troops during World War II, Mildred's story exposes the dark underbelly of the Third Reich's hate-filled propaganda machine, her eventual capture in Berlin, and subsequent trial for treason against the United States after the war.

Period re-creation is decent (the interiors-heavy film was shot entirely in Puerto Rico), Polish effectively peppers in bits of archival footage, and the story is often involving despite its missteps.

A movie without anything to recommend it. A lead actress who has zero appeal or ability joined the rest of the cast in delivering performances so wooden the Amazon could have benefitted from minor re-forestation. Do not watch.

I found this movie surrpisingly good. the storyline credible and all the actors were excellent. Al Pacino, of course, was fantastic, but Ms. Williams' portrayal of the most hated woman in America during the 40s, was riveting.
