lenny r A highly unlikely premise, and the ending is a bit meh, but the performances are pretty good. Stupid title, though. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A really smart lesbian love story. They don't happen often enough. I laughed, I cried... From title to dialogue this story kept me intrigued and wondering what the hell was going on - in a good way. my favorite films unfold slowly letting most of the pieces fall into place organically - which no easy feat for a writer. I don't know if straight audiences will appreciate this slow burn, but as a lesbian filmmaker myself, I give this one a huge thumbs up. Pop the corn, grab your girl and the remote, find this low budget gem. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Anatomy of a Love Seen [Bader, 2014] Forgot the importance of continuity, it feels like the first cut. 4/10 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This is by far the most passionate, heavy movie that I have ever watched. This is a story of two people who fell in love while filming a love scene for a movie. They became a couple but it was short-lived. Zoe was devastated when Mal walked away from her. A few months after, they will see each other once again to re-shoot the same exact love scene they made. The movie was executed very well but there are some scenarios that would be better if they explained it a little more than making the viewers assume. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member interesting plot and plot twists on a static set - more like a stage play .... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Anatomy of a Love Seen is a provocative and stylistic film that looks at the dichotomy of art and realism. The story follows two actresses who fell in love on a film set as they return for a re-shoot after a tumultuous breakup, and must work through their issues in order to complete the project; but unknown to them all is not as it seems. Marina Rice Bader's directing is especially good and creates an authentic feel to the film set motif. And both Sharon Hinnendael and Jill Evyn give fairly strong performances. However, the script is rather weak; as the audience is thrust into the middle of things without a clear idea of what's going on. Still, despite some poor storytelling, Anatomy of a Love Seen provides an interesting exploration of the nature of love. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
