Lots of potential, and it almost works until the end. Not the best effects, and we don't get too see the dinosaur forms enough, but the characters are interesting and the plot is overall good. It eventually goes in the wrong direction though, and the end is very lacking. It might of worked as a series, if it was done a bit better, but otherwise it's a nice little television gem.

Nothing like the book, but a pretty enjoyable movie.
Acting is great, with Daniel Baldwin, Sam Trammel, and Fay Dunaway as the main cast, you cant but help to like the characters.
The plot is the biggest like about it. The idea that Dinosaurs surviving extinction and evolving to live among us is pretty original, seeing as I've never thought of that, looking away from the novel. Its sad that this couldnt have been put into a bigger budget. Since it was in a fairly small budget, the visuals (majority being cgi) arent that believable. They aren't terrible, but they arent good either.
You dont really get to see many of the dinos either. All but copies of the main guy, Vinne. Who was apparently a Velociraptor, and his buddy (Daniel Baldwin's character) the Triceratops. The only feral/wild dinosaur that you see in the film is a Velociraptor. While Vinne is looking in a storage locker, one pops up eating a carcass, and aftee seeing Vinne, attacks him.
Overall this movie is pretty enjoyable. Deserving an acceptable 3 stars.

I loved Anonymous Rex!!! Dinosaurs secretly living amongst us but disgusing themselves as humans? What's not to love about that!?!? It really is a great mini-series and one everyone should see at some point!

I really kind of enjoyed this. Not what I was expecting at all. The idea of dinosaurs surviving and living among people raises many questions, none of which go answered. It brings about familiarities with Men in Black and Alien Nation. Luckily, it falls into a weird void of comedic, cheesy, sci-fi noir. Our protagonist is one of these dinosaurs used to "silence" human witnesses. Immediately this causes a lot of interest, as we have a character that essentially kills humans, most of whom are just in the wrong place at the wrong time. At the same time the film does well to make us empathise with their plight. He is also a private detective, which leads to some rather knowing voice-overs. The best thing is that he is a conflicted character, one that kind of believes that the dinosaurs should stop living in the shadows, and rise up against the humans. Obviously the effects aren't up to much and they will generate chuckles. The science is out the window, just go with it. This will be a great film for B Movie fans, as it doesn't take itself too seriously, but doesn't hide its shortcomings with over-the-top winks at the camera. I also enjoyed the techniques employed for the dinosaur destruction flashback (using toys), and the visual representations to the different pheromones.

Apparently, this film was made to pilot a TV series on the old FX channel. It is also based on a series of popular books, which I was not aware of. I purchased this DVD, as I believe Sam Trammell to be a brilliant actor who has continually made interesting choices in his career.
As a dinosaur posing as a human, who is working as a private investigator, I found Sam (and his co-stars) to be charming, interesting, and believable. This is a film the entire family can watch, and find something to enjoy.
I actually wish the series had been made, but alas we just have a small glimpse into the character, Vincent, that Sam portrays with such humor, humanity, and romanticism.
