Jeffrey P Riveting slow burn dystopian sci-fi, the plot could have been more fleshed out as the overall gist wasn't always clear. Fans of the genre should enjoy it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/25/24 Full Review g j An unappreciated gem that really showed what Brandon Cronenberg was capable of from off the bat. I can see why this film wasn't more popular... it's pretty disgusting and probably comes across as an attempt to ride the coat-tails of Cronenberg sr, but it definitely rewards careful viewing. It's a very solid film in its own right with some truly uniquely horrifying ideas. The film presents one of the most disgusting dystopias ever committed to film and makes some of the most bleak commentary on the nature of celebrity since Being John Malkovich. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Brandon Cronenberg does not disappoint. Though Possessor and Infinity Pool are better, this film too is a trip. The man is a master of surrealism, not afraid to throw in dashes of hyperrealism as well. He can count me as a fan. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/03/23 Full Review Alex L A unique movie, never seen anything like that. What a weird watch Antiviral was. Loved the acting and the plot. After the Pandemic this Cronenberg feels even more purposeful. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review richard t This is a slow burn of a movie, hard not to compare to his father's work (although it compares favourably). Avoid if you have any kind of aversion to needles. Good and moody. And just when you think it's going nowhere, it goes somewhere. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Enticing thriller from Cronenberg Jr. with intriguing themes about the future that have not been explored before. Worth a watch Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/15/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Anna Smith metro.co.uk Antiviral is a none-too-subtle comment on tabloid-generated fandom. But it's undeniably intriguing and loaded with Cronenbergian atmosphere. Rated: 3/5 Sep 1, 2017 Full Review Francesca Steele Independent (UK) It's a work that feels technically precise but trying just a little too hard Aug 11, 2017 Full Review Bill Stamets Chicago Sun-Times How sick can fans of a celebrity get? Very, answers "Antiviral." Imagine fan fetish culture metastasizing. A pox on consumers and capitalists alike, Brandon Cronenberg sneers. May 11, 2013 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand [Brandon Croneberg's] approach is appropriately intimate and sensuous, physical yet disconnected, and his mix of visual restraint, visual elegance, and conceptual complexity make him someone to watch for. Feb 3, 2024 Full Review Elissa Suh Moviepudding Cronenberg drills down on the main points, our obsession with celebrity, with the dull force of a minor headache. Aug 18, 2022 Full Review Jason Adams My New Plaid Pants The meal, while beautifully laid out with care, is a little thin - even at such a deliberate pace, slow slower slowest, it needs a little more meat for caressing Jul 2, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
