Owen Gleiberman Entertainment Weekly Rated: D Sep 7, 2011 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Is there a satirical point here? Parallels we can draw with real life? Lessons to learn? ... This movie doesn't even seem to have a point of view. Rated: 2/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Chase Burns The Stranger (Seattle, WA) If it had a tighter plot, I'd say it's a commentary on terrorism, but it's so delightfully sloppy that it's best viewed as a how-to against product placement. Seriously, the product placement in this film is insane. Jon L Perfectly campy humor of of the 90’s. Hadn’t watched this since I was a kid but now I’m able to appreciate the humor of bugs living in middle class America and becoming corrupted by all the shenanigans that are still relatable to the 2020’s. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/07/24 Full Review Wendy T This movie is WEIRD. It's 90s quirky, feels like a low budget strange practical effects monster movie BUT it makes you feel bad for and sympathize with the "monsters". If you're a fan old school monster movies, give this one a try - if you can find it. I've been hunting for years. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/30/23 Full Review Demented N Trys to hard to be odd and obscure when in hindsight it's just a hot mess of random Monologues and monolithic acting Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Really dark, weird and funny black comedy that's nigh on impossible to get on any format now, it remains a brilliant, twisted little cult gem and an acidic satire on white, middle class, suburban america with some incredible make up and practical effects that are utterly gross and especially impressive seen today. If you can get hold of it ( and i recommend you do) it's well worth a watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member a very interesting black comedy with a great cast Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Frances H Started off cute, but the end was lame.
