I appreciate the effort, but I can find very little about this movie to convince you to spend your time watching it. Go to Full Review

A rather silly and mostly fun horror comedy that plays as an amusing Scooby Doo spin on a mash-up of Brotherhood and American Horror Story. Go to Full Review

Nwaka's film takes advantage of the climate recently created by Jordan Peele's Get Out (2017) to reinvest and refresh the horror genre with black perspectives. It is just a pity that in other respects Are We Dead Yet? is so messily unfocused. Go to Full Review

SkyRo P @TheMovieSearch Jun 15 The 2019 horror version of The Living Dead is, honestly, a really bad film. The direction completely disregards whatever potential the script might have had — although the script itself was weak from the start. The combination of poor writing and poor direction results in a messy, uninspiring movie that feels dry and lifeless from start to finish. The acting is all over the place; it feels combustible and unfocused, as if scenes were thrown together without much thought or guidance. The direction, the cinematography — everything about the film feels cheap and poorly made. There’s nothing remotely scary or well-crafted here. It’s a missed opportunity across the board. The worst part might be the zombies themselves. The makeup is awful; none of it looks realistic or even mildly convincing. It highlights just how much this production fell short — instead of delivering something atmospheric or dramatic, it feels rushed, uninspired, and hard to watch. Overall, The Living Dead (2019) is a bad film. There’s no depth, no artistry, and nothing to redeem it. It’s a perfect example of a missed opportunity in the horror genre.
