farah r Although it starts out slow, Ashes succeeds in becoming an intriguing suspenseful thriller. And kudos to Ray Winstone for delivering a marvelous performance as a man suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie starts out with a very slow burn till the climax near the end. The cast gave good performances as well as the director in his vision for such a story. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Winstone is cast in an unusual role of a elderly man who suffers from dementia who embarks on a road trip with someone whom he believes to be his son Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member I like Jim Sturgess. I think he's one charismatic actor in his generation who could simply move people by delivering the characters he's in. This one is one example. And the veteran Ray Winstone of course is phenomenal here. Only this film is rather confusing; the twist & turn at the end is abrupt buy yet predictable, which makes me think: "Why the fuss for the first 80 minutes then?!!" Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Full of plot twists, well written, worth a watch ;) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Quite poignant but a little confused, much like the subject matter!
