Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Doug and the Professor sneak around one strange man-eating vegetable, and there's another one -- which is the original vegetable, photographed from a new angle. Rated: 1/4 Oct 23, 2004 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Boasting mediocre acting, some surprisingly entertaining monsters, and unintentionally hilarious fantasy adventure, it's likely the most well balanced of Connor's early films. Rated: 7/10 Aug 27, 2020 Full Review Stephen Randall Los Angeles Free Press It's the type of movie you can send your kids to, but only if you don't much like them. Oct 31, 2019 Full Review Jesús Fernández Santos El Pais (Spain) The movie is shown like a museum fossil without any enthusiasm. Jason T Everything is awful. The writing, the direction, the 'monsters', the premise. And as garish as all that was, nothing came close to how awful the acting was. It's so bad you can't even appreciate it for how terrible it is. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/04/23 Full Review DanTheMan 2 At the Earth's Core is utterly joyous nonsense, extravagant, colourful and thoroughly preposterous, a typical lavish Jules Verne-style adventure full of youthful wonderment and hilariously dated effects. The movie is a kind of no-talent competition in which the acting, script, direction and camera work vie for last place but remains as upbeat as its exuberant charm allows for. With the great pairing of an overbearingly British Peter Cushing and a surprisingly pudgy Doug McClure battling rubber-suited monsters and subterranean species, it remains a blast throughout, even if the movie seemingly wanted to give more character to Caroline Munro's heaving cleavage than anything else in the picture. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/16/23 Full Review Steve D Too ridiculous to work. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/10/23 Full Review georgan g This one had the worst bad makeup & costumes I think I've ever seen. It's good for a laugh if you like really low budget silly monsters. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Liam D I watched this movie from the Netflix's MST3K revival and the Riffing was very good, If it wasn't for that I would have shut the movie off in the first few minutes because this was a bore Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/15/22 Full Review Audience Member "Hi, I'm Doug McLure, and you may remember me from such films as the one you're currently watching."
