RyanBurnsPW An incredible, tranquil experience. Great character performances and chemistry from the two leads. Usually I decry blue color grading washes over films but here is really emphasizes the liminal space Hong Kong has transformed into for the East Asian denizens here at various points in their lives. Wholeheartedly recommend for anyone going tying to stay afloat in a world too big, too fast for our lives to properly settle in to. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A lovely, quiet, moving film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Hey, it's the guy from Mystery Train, tee-hee. Here, his character has more emotion and is more dorky. The best scene is the completely continuous close-up shot of the Japanese guy , revealing himself to us, telling how he misses being asked questions about himself and crying by the end of his monologue. This is what Lost in Translation should have been and failed to be: moving, compassionate, full of emotion, and actually humorous. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member very painful to watch, downright annoying! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member A magnificent, soothing coalition of traditions, personal behaviors,damn...even luxurious narcissism by the "man",Masatoshi Nagase.Urban loneliness if one necessarily demands a particular theme,I am still in awe after watching my first Clara Law picture and her transcending aura is on par to a Thomas Tallis chant or Sappho's elegies, just like the little girl's tender monologues.
