Jeff S Ladd and Borgnine are great in this underappreciated film that's both rough and romantic. Also features great actors Anthony Caruso, Nehemiah Persoff, and Robert Emhardt with solid supporting roles by Katy Jurado and Claire Kelly, Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/24 Full Review Audience Member Good one right here Allen Ladd Ernest Borgnine did a good job and yes I will recommend it James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas, November 15, 2023 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review Steve D Pointless remake with some good acting. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/11/23 Full Review Audience Member 140827: Had all the makings of a good movie but just lacked pop. It's ok. Katy Jurado has never been a good thing when it comes to westerns. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting story, clumsily told. Had the makings of a great western: the crime-caper, the double-crossings, the romance, and throw in some personal histories and racial and social issues. For the most part, it works well. Yet some scenes are cringe-worthy in their clumsiness. Just about any scene involving Ernest Borgnine and Katy Jurado, for example. There was absolutely no chemistry there (and this is more the script's fault, rather than their's), and their relationship just seem contrived. Some of the twists in the plot are also quite predictable. This said, the movie moves along at a good pace, the action scenes are good, and the ending wraps up the story nicely. Good performance by Alan Ladd in the lead role. Good support from Ernest Borgnine, Katy Jurado and Claire Kelly. I can't believe Claire Kelly didn't become a bigger star: she certainly had the looks, and was a decent actress. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Standard fair for a Western of the day. It's alright. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
