Steve Davis Austin Chronicle Barracuda may not have the sharp teeth of the Hollywood nail-biters that have swum before in familiar waters. But if you're attuned to its slow-burn charm, it still offers some bite. Rated: 3/5 Oct 12, 2017 Full Review Sheila O'Malley RogerEbert.com A sometimes-riveting 'take' on the unexpected uninvited guest plot-line, grounded to the earth by the phenomenal performances of Allison Tolman and Sophie Reid. Rated: 3/4 Oct 6, 2017 Full Review Nick Schager Variety Though its slow-burn narrative doesn't pay off in a wholly satisfying manner, this offbeat nail-biter should nonetheless be welcomed by those eager for something off the beaten genre path. Oct 5, 2017 Full Review Derek Deskins Edge Media Network Where the script leaves the character of Merle a shell, Tolman picks up the slack in her subtle and often heartbreaking performance. Rated: 3/5 Mar 1, 2019 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue ... gradually ratchets up the tension and offers a fresh take on familiar material. Oct 7, 2017 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com "Barracuda" is subtle, measured work, but highly successful and chilling. Rated: B+ Oct 5, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Had the opportunity to see this amazing film during the South By Southwest film festival. Tremendous work, with some terrific musical performances from Texas artists. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Far, far, FAR too slow for what normal people like me call a thriller. Payoff does not pay off. Fine for artsy-fartsy types, hence the score from the professional critics. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Slow moving is correct, but definitely not a 'thrilling' thriller by any means. The trailer makes it look scary, but it's far from it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Very good scary movie. Looks not only thrilling but has a cool deep feeling to it.
