Elizabeth Garcia But Why Tho? A Geek Community My recommendation is to read the original graphic novel or check out The Dark Knight Returns...which is a far superior adaptation of a famed Batman story [than Batman: Hush]. Rated: 4/10 Jan 21, 2023 Full Review Nicola Austin We Have a Hulk An enjoyable entry into the DC Universe Animated Original Movies, with plenty of action, intrigue and romance, boasting an impressively talented voice cast. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 6, 2019 Full Review Hasitha Fernando Flickering Myth Featuring top-notch animation and action sequences Batman: Hush is a worthy addition to any avid Batman fan's film collection. Sep 3, 2019 Full Review Jim Dandy Den of Geek Batman: Hush pares down the cast significantly, ditches the red herrings, actually seeds its twist (which is changed significantly from the comic), and builds on the shared continuity of the animated feature universe to actually end up fairly solid. Rated: 4/5 Aug 22, 2019 Full Review Ian Thomas Malone ianthomasmalone.com Juggling its many pieces quite well, Batman: Hush is another strong showing for the DC Animated Movie Universe. Aug 20, 2019 Full Review Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network BATMAN: HUSH is going to appeal to fans of the comic book story and fans of the DC Animated Universe movies, but everyone else can skip this one. Audience Member Completely disrespectful to the source material. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/06/24 Full Review Eye C It’s ok, they remove the off voice and change the ending, but still is a good adaptation. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Mark T An underrated, overlooked and brilliant film. Excellent characters, brilliant action, stellar animation and an engaging narrative. It honours and surpasses the original comic. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/23 Full Review Victor O I have enjoyed plenty of the DC Animated Universe movies over time, especially when it is a stand-alone adaptation such as Batman: Under the Red Hood or Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. But in regards to their animated extended universe which mostly adapts New 52, it has been a bit of a mixed bag with the Batman stories doing stories that have been set in the New 52 like Batman vs Robin and Batman: Bad Blood but some like Batman and Son as well as Teen Titans: Judas Contract have adapted stories outside of the New 52 but relatively decently. Batman: is one of those stories written outside of New 52 and is adapted reasonably but I cannot help but see the flaws. Set some time after the events of the adaptations of the Death and Return of Superman, Batman is set to take on his usual run of foes when a mysterious new enemy clad in a mummy-wrapped face, armor and a trench coat has been recruiting or tricking his foes in a plot that seeks the destruction of Bruce Wayne/Batman. All the while Bruce has grown close to his old foe, the sensual burglar known as Catwoman. With new friends and old friends coming together they meet in an epic confrontation. I got to say that whenever an adaptation of any popular literary adaptation is made into a movie there is always the idea that it must be made different enough to be original but still faithful to the original story, and in that spirit try to make it better. This was a win some, lose some situation. Let's just say it's not the first time a particular character was turned into an innocent to make a surprise villain. The TV show Gotham made that mistake and this movie chickened out again. The fact that this story adapts a Post-Crisis story into a New 52 adaptation makes it poorly told because so many characters are left out that it explains their change. I loved Jason O'Mara returning as Batman and other voiceovers too. I find it funny that the Peyton List and Peyton R. List are in the same movie. This was an okay story just not a great one. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review DrPhil1992 A decent effort though there are cracks in just about every aspect of the film. Some larger than others. While the animation is one of the best parts, there is 3D thrown in which cheapens the experience. There is brutal action that works well with the film's more adult themes though there is some dialogue that becomes a bit too immature over time. The story has some great reveals while it stagnates pretty badly in the second act. Hush should have been a greater presence than he was made to have in the film. A lot of promise with a story of this caliber, it feels as if they sacrificed a large part of this film for a less mature audience. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
