Espinof It is one of those feature films that must be faced with a certain predisposition and with the mind as open as possible. Mike P Goofy but undeniably fun confection of Batman, Anime and Ninja Lore; and also Time Travel...Batman is morphed by a villain back to Feudal Japan; where The Joker has taken over as The Emperor; and The Caped Crusader is forced to use his martial arts skills. (All of the Rogue Gallery has also time travelled back; and become a King of the city states of ancient Japan as a matter of fact; each trying to unify the country and take over)...This is every bit the "Elseworlds" tale; and a very ambitious one; with an excellent plot and scripting; and the Showrunners here really go above and beyond with truly impressive visuals. They also bring in inside knowledge about Japans history and culture to bring a real verisimilitude and style to the proceedings. Next to Gotham By Gaslight, this is my favorite. Terrific. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/28/25 Full Review John T While the animation, for the most part, was stellar anime, the film itself fell apart. For the nimation part, most of it was pure Japanese anime and I liked it but for some unknown reason, they decided to switch anime styles through the movie. For the story, I get the travelling back to feudal Japan is interesting but Batman coming to some realization WHEN HE HAS HAD THAT SAME REALIZATION THROUGH MULTIPLE DC STORIES, was extremely laughable. Also, Damian acting more like a young Dick Greyson with a horrible harcut was also not in character and also laughable. Don't buy, stream. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/26/25 Full Review matthias s *Batman Ninja* is a wild, stylish ride that’s more about the spectacle than the story — and honestly, that’s not a bad thing. As a huge Batman and DC fan, I’m always up for a fresh take on the Caped Crusader, and this one delivers big time on visuals. The character designs are absolutely insane (in the best way), and the animation style fits perfectly with the feudal Japan setting. The cinematography is top-tier — some of the shots are just breathtaking. The voice acting? Spot-on. Everyone brings the right energy, and it helps sell the craziness of the whole thing. Now, the plot… yeah, it’s thin. Time travel, warring factions, giant mechs — it’s messy, but not in a way that ruins the fun. You’re here for the vibe, not the logic. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a blast to look at. Solid 3 stars — fun, flawed, but visually unforgettable. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/19/25 Full Review Blythe M If you have any self respect whatsoever, stay away from this movie. Words cannot express how terrible the writers of this movie are. The phrase "don't quit your day job" does not apply to them. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Sean J Batman Azteca: Choque De Imperios Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/04/24 Full Review Eye C A perfect anime movie, with all its resources, excesses, designs and style. The animation is simply AMAZING, the story not so much, pick something… anything to make a Batman movie made in Japan, it doesn't matter what, just do a Batman Japanese Movie… and here it is… as beauty as it can be.
