Douglas Davidson Elements of Madness Though it uses the characters and foundational elements of Bob Kane and Bill Finger’s Dark Knight and the subsequent characters of Gotham City, it does so through the prism of Japanese cultural, creating opportunities to do some truly amazing things ... Espinof It is one of those feature films that must be faced with a certain predisposition and with the mind as open as possible. [Full Review in Spanish] Jul 20, 2019 Full Review Michelle Kisner The Movie Sleuth This is hands-down the most avant-garde animated film to come out of DC. Audience Member Movie was alright. Though, its not a normal DC movie. It has a great amount of Japanese traditions going on... Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/28/25 Full Review Sara Elizabeth G Me gusto la historia, ame la dinámica familiar además que creo que tiene uno de los mejores Jokers y Harleys Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/20/25 Full Review Isaac E I have to admit, the only reason I watched this was so that I could watch and log it’s sequel Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League to add to my 2025 list. I was kind of dreading this movie because it didn’t have very good reviews on Letterboxd, and the rating on IMDb was abysmal. Batman Ninja was so bonkers and I loved every minute of it. I’ve never seen anime look like this before, and by that I mean in 3D, and I wasn’t sure how I felt about it going in. The animation though is undeniably gorgeous. This is sort of off topic, but if a movie based on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom ever got made (which won’t happen by the way), it should totally look like this. I watched the English dub which I thought was really well done. The Joker actor sounded impressively like Mark Hamill which was great, and the Batman actor sounded perfect for an anime alternative version of Batman, so epic. The only voice performance I didn’t care for was Harley Quinn, who I thought sounded a little bit loud and obnoxious for this film, especially compared to everyone else. The story wasn’t much to right home about, but the concept itself of Batman being in this universe kept me engaged. The action sequences were a blast and so well done, full of a ton of energy and adrenaline. I loved the sword fights, and the full on “Power Rangers” third act was so wild I couldn’t help but get a kick out of it. Batman Ninja really, really surprised me and I am eager to check out the next one. GREAT ENTERTAINEMENT Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/07/25 Full Review Jeff N Not much of a fan of this style of Batman films Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/06/25 Full Review D H It's a lot of good fun. Certainly not a serious film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/05/25 Full Review Read all reviews
