It's been nearly two years since Superman's (Henry Cavill) colossal battle with Zod (Michael Shannon) devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel.

There is much to claw through here, so much so that the audience might easily find themselves exhausted from the overall aggression of the film. However, a lot of the story does work. The action is good, and the emotion feels real most of the time.

I was hoping to give this film a higher rating, but I did really enjoy it. It's got a LOT of exposition and has a way overly complicated plot. But the cast is great and I really loved Batfleck. There's a great movie in there somewhere, that I think better writing and editing could have produced. But it's a feast for the eyes and ears, just gotta turn off the brain a bit.
