Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice smothers a potentially powerful story -- and some of America's most iconic superheroes -- in a grim whirlwind of effects-driven action.

Samantha Riedel Bitch Media Let's not make any bones about it - on any scale, Dawn of Justice is painful to watch. Feb 10, 2021 Full Review Matthew Rozsa Salon.com It is without question an important film today, and a quintessential product of the America we inhabit. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 3, 2017 Full Review Aramide Tinubu Shadow and Act There is much to claw through here, so much so that the audience might easily find themselves exhausted from the overall aggression of the film. However, a lot of the story does work. The action is good, and the emotion feels real most of the time. Apr 12, 2017 Full Review Tania Hussain The Hudsucker With a well-painted influence from the Man of Steel’s darkened hues and dramatic imaging, Batman v Superman is a very naturalistic story with a somber script. Jul 10, 2024 Full Review Brendan Cassidy InSession Film The film was written by both Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, and their jarring duality is very present. Rated: C- Jun 17, 2024 Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson This new franchise has chosen its mature path and they are showing the resolute fortitude to stick with it, haters be damned. Nicholas D bad bad movie way too long Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/18/23 Full Review Corey J It is kind of crazy how much of a mess this movie was. There was waaaaay too much stuff crammed into this even at 2 and a half hours and it made the first act move at such a rapid pace it was difficult to really follow along and piece everything together. And many of those plot points didn't need to be in there. While I did really like Ben Affleck as Batman, I thought Gal Gadot was a pretty perfect Wonder Woman, and I enjoyed Jeremy Irons as the Alfred this universe wants to portray, this movie wasted Amy Adams' Louis Lane. She was constantly in the movie but barely did much of anything. She was so hollow. Jesse Eisenberg did a great job portraying the type of quirky and eccentric and weird Lex Luthor they wanted, but I thought it was a poor choice to make the character the way he was in the movie. It didn't fit. It needed the methodical business man, not some weird unhinged dweeb. And overall, despite being overly packed with pacing issues, the movie was just boring. It's Batman fighting Superman for the first time and it felt like it was 4 hours of nothing. I didn't like the movie when I saw it in theaters upon its initial release but I didn't realize it was this bad and boring. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/03/25 Full Review Aaron M I think this is the best Superman and best Bat man character renditions. Not sure why the critics hated it but this was a super entertaining movie. Great graphics and fight sequences. I’ll watch it again and again. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/27/25 Full Review G R 63% is a bit high, should be 50%. I will rate lower. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/23/25 Full Review Chance C While the story could have been written with more focus, the lead actors portrayed the characters exceptionally well. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/22/25 Full Review Big P. Arguably the worst movie of all time. MARRTHAAAAAAA!!!! WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?!?! SO BAD. And whoever decided to cast Jessie freakin Eisenberg as Lex, ya mom’s a hoe. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/20/25 Full Review Read all reviews
