Johnathon W Solid adaptation of the classic comic that, while well-crafted, suffers from sticking too close to the source material. The voice cast is excellent across the board, with Bryan Cranston superb as Jim Gordon, delivering the right mix of grit and pathos for the hardened cop. Behind the camera, the filmmakers do a solid job sticking to the classic story but a bit too much. As a result, the film is barely over an hour and plays more like an animated comic over being a true adaptation. What's worse, they cut the best line from Batman during the SWAT raid. Overall, a solid watch but not one of DC Animation's best. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/24 Full Review matthias s "Batman: Year One" successfully captures the gritty and realistic tone of Miller's comic book, with its moody visuals and morally complex characters. The voice acting is solid, with Bryan Cranston bringing depth and nuance to the role of Jim Gordon, and Ben McKenzie providing a suitably brooding performance as Batman/Bruce Wayne. However, the film's fidelity to the source material can also be a drawback at times, as it can feel overly compressed and rushed in certain scenes, and some of the dialogue and voiceover narration can be heavy-handed and melodramatic. Also, while the animation is generally solid, there are a few moments of awkward movement or stiff facial expressions that detract from the immersion. "Batman: Year One" is a worthwhile watch for fans of the Batman mythos, and a commendable attempt to adapt one of the most influential Batman stories ever told. While it may not be perfect, it's still a compelling and engaging take on the Dark Knight's early days in Gotham City. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/09/23 Full Review Andrius y un gran elenco de voces en un filme con una animación preciosa ,que logra juntar todos los factores clave en una cinta de batman y captar la esencia del cómic en el que es basada . Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/02/23 Full Review Carl J Should be called 'Gordon' 'Batman: Year one' was an enjoyable Batman animation. It wasn't my favourite one I have seen but it was still good in its own way. For me, this one seemed more about Gordon rather than Batman. The animation looked great, one of the better animations I have seen in that sense. There was only a few fight scenes (which were good) but I just wanted more. I wanted to see the Batmobile and stuff like that. Also Catwoman was kinda just there, what was she doing? I'll admit I haven't read any Batman comics for years and have only just started watching a few of the animated films, maybe that's why I didn't like this one so much. Overall it was still good but just not as good as other ones I have seen. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Aiden M Story is good and I like red hood Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/01/22 Full Review Brayden A Very short and enjoyable Gotham. The story of year one is one of my personal favorites and it's not anything special but you should give this a watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/26/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Jordan Hoffman UGO Marital infidelity, child prostitution and civic corruption are bluntly (although tastefully) displayed - it just so happens that there's also a guy zipping around town in a bat suit. Rated: 3/4 Mar 7, 2023 Full Review Sergio Benítez Espinof With an extremely short running time, it manages to capture the essence of what made the comic book work so well. Rated: 3/5 Jan 30, 2012 Full Review R.L. Shaffer IGN DVD A stale adaptation of the classic Frank Miller comic. The film drowns in bad voice work and lacks the visual nuances found in the original story.
