One suspects the "actual events" involved first-time director Audrey Cummings at one point in her life watching better babysitter thrillers such as Halloween or When a Stranger Calls, because Berkshire County is nothing close to original.

Outside the lead and the main antagonist, the acting gets really dicey. Marcus had me wincing, but not of fear.

When the bodies start to fall and the blood begins to flow, Berkshire County delivers the horror. What audiences may not expect is the sly feminist critique hidden among the pig masks, circular rooms and home invasion.

That plot isn't especially original, but it's employed in the service of a vicious and effective genre project, and the time spent on character development makes us genuinely care about Kylie's survival.

Very typical. Not terrible - not great. Unlikable babysitter plays victim then tries to play hero. Worth watching but not on the top of the list.

was okayish, as movie moves on just too predictable on whats gonna happen. takes while to get decent and ends with no explanation or idea of who the people were or why done what did?

I would have been very fond of this movie if it had ended 2-3 minutes before it did.... Kinda reminded me of that older movie "when a stranger calls", but a creppier, Halloween-y version. Keeps you watching for sure, and not too long.
