The Schaffer family is falling apart. The father, Jack (Seymour Cassel), is terminally ill and trying to reclaim his faith before it's too late. His daughter Paulie (Elisabeth Moss) is bipolar and refuses to take her meds. Her husband, Joey (Michael Esper), is no help, smoking pot all day and barely holding a job. Keeping the family together is Jack's older daughter, Susannah (Jen Albano), but the strain of supporting everyone around her is starting to take a toll on her dwindling romantic life.
