This documentary is a cinematic homage to iconic Black & Brown poets whose work inspires cultural equity, change, and revolution. Fusing poetry with cinema, this first season explores the backstory and practice of accoladed poets from San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, Fresno and New Jersey. Directed by award-winning Rafael Flores, poets featured in the first volume include: U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera, Guggenheim fellow Rigoberto Gonzalez, American Book Award Winner Paul Flores, Oakland Poet Laureate Ayodele Nzinga (aka Word Slanger), and forgotten prison poet Roberto Tinoco Duran.
