Audience Member A short film that was seemingly lost until 2015, Black Angel is pretty light on plot and meaningful characterisations but what makes it stands out are its atmospheric mood, great cinematography and solid costume design. It's a bit too long at 25 minutes for a short film attached with the highly-anticipated Star Wars sequel The Empire Strikes Back (case in point, remember the Olaf's Frozen Adventure fiasco back in 2017?), being more suited for film festivals or as a one-off TV special but the ambiance and stroll through some great scenery make this medieval-era low fantasy short worth your while, especially seeing as how it's now been legally available to watch on YouTube since 2015. Doesn't seem like the plans to turn Black Angel into a proper movie have gone anywhere, but who knows it might surprise us by having a trailer pop out of nowhere or something. You never know.
