Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Reflecting influences ranging from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to Rosemary's Baby to -- well, you name it -- Bleed doesn't exactly break any new ground, stylistically or otherwise. Mar 29, 2016 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety Too derivative and not stylish enough to merit any special championing, as indie B-horror movies go, it's nonetheless nicely crafted enough to rate a cut above the low-expectation median. Mar 29, 2016 Full Review Michelle Swope HorrorNews.net Bleed is a supernatural horror film that I want to recommend, but the final act leaves a lot to be desired. Rated: 3/5 Mar 1, 2019 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews Almost entirely devoid of positive attributes... Rated: 0/4 Feb 24, 2017 Full Review Ernesto Zelaya Miñano ScreenAnarchy Bleed is really nothing you haven't seen before, but there's still some pretty interesting elements that result from its mixtape approach. Mar 29, 2016 Full Review Matt Donato We Got This Covered Bleed is familiar, by-the-numbers horror filmmaking, but it's also short and sweet enough to capitalize on cheap thrills. Adriana R I couldn't put 0 stars sadly. This movie was a complete waste of time I feel bad for anyone who was involved in this movie (ms crisp who didn't deserve this role) and anyone who liked it. This budget was too expensive for this quality. —> Shot on Nokia phone <— I'd rather watch the people eat deodorant for a living on YouTube than this garbage 0/10 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/02/19 Full Review Audience Member Mediocre acting, special effects that make SyFy editors laugh, and a promising plot that could NOT have been executed more poorly. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I wish I could give this movie 0 stars. There is nothing within this movie that evoked positive feelings. From beginning to end it is boring, completely derivative, and the plot is spotty at best. The supernatural aspect of this movie is so poorly executed that it never should've been included in the movie in any manner. I've seen some pretty terrible movies throughout my life and this easily ranks at the top of that list. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I created an account just so I could spare other humans from wasting an hour with this dumpster fire of a movie. The âPlotâ? makes absolutely no sense, and even by terrible horror movie standards the the acting is bad. Nothing is explained at all, and Iâ(TM)m not sure there was even a writer involved, I think it was actually written by a goat with a magic 8 ball. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Bleed is the reason I will now look at reviews before I watch. It made absolutely no sense from the start. It explains nothing of what is happening in the town and the birthmark. The ending makes no sense. It is horrible and I hope people stay away from this movie. I do not understand how it received 5 star reviews. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member The story that Rhame tells is a crisp, modern horror tale that stays pretty close to classic horror story ideas. There is the "newcomers to rural America fear", a paranormal element that teases to the horrors to come, and an "abnormal" community of crazy cult people. The characters are contemporary hipster-esque, well developed, and believable enough to be interesting. However they are not all too original, and the direction the story takes them in is slightly off-kilter. Some choices the characters make didn't quite make sense. Still they are far from the standard two-dimensional clichés normally associated with traditional horror movies. "Bleed" has a tight, suspenseful energy that starts slow, and like the characters destiny, rolls into a tense, and bloody nightmare. The cinematography is great and stylized in a manner that offers a claustrophobic quality to the already dark nature of the story. The effects are a blend of well done typical CGI paranormal tricks and practical gory effects that offer blunt, visceral moments of carnage. "Bleed" is a B-level movie that creates an atmospheric, thrilling nightmare worth watching. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
