02/17/2017 This Oscar nominated animated short is done in a style to suggest a rough wood engraving was transferred to the film stock or digitally scanned. This fable is about a girl born with unusual eyes (but maybe not so unusual from many modern people). One eye can only see the past of things when they were young. Her village was prosperous and the people she knows were experiencing the Spring of life. The other eye can only see the future, an apocalyptic vision when everything is crumbling and dying. She cannot see the present, what is happening right now in between those two extremes, and cannot live according to that which she cannot see.
