Evan C I love this movie and watch it often. It is quirky and full of strange characters. I especially love the bodyguard/assassin in clown makeup (Mr Mascaro), as well as the all-girl Rock band in a cage. The existentialist dialogue at the end is enjoyable, as is the dual ending. I would venture to say this is one of Charles Band's best! (Goof: After watching this movie many times, I noticed a scene near the middle of the movie in which Virgil Travis is eating Chinese food in his office, and you can see a mysterious man to the left of the screen who does not belong there- I assume it is a crew member. It seems like quite an oversight, but to its credit, I watched this movie many times before I noticed it.) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A odd and at times disturbing entry in the Full Moon filmography it is nonetheless not awful. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Producer/writer/director Charles Band continues his obsession with small deadly toy movies. This time the deadly toys are the invention of an eccentric billionaire (who has tiny head on a regular sized body) who then exacts his revenge upon those who've wronged him using his dolls. The small-headed billionaire also has a clown-faced butler and keeps a female rock back caged in his mansion. He also has a dwarf helper played by Phil Fondacaro who memorably appeared in director Band's film "Troll" as Malcom. I supposed the main difference between this film and the other tiny dolls versus humans movies is that the humans and the general situation in this film is goofier than most of the other films, which does help this film's entertainment value. The dolls themselves are not especially interesting and I think lacked the personality of the better killer doll movies, meaning I don't think Full Moon Features fans will be clamoring for a the deadly geisha, muscle man, or pimp figures to add to their collections. Not the best of the Full Moon killer doll movies, but certainly not the worst. And IMDB trivia claims that the character of Mr. Mascaro is the human version of the Jack in the Box from "Demonic Toys," but I didn't see any connection other than the butler having similar clown make-up. And Nicholas Worth, the shaved head character actor probably best remembered from his role in "Darkman," also appears in the film. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member "Blood Dolls" is a lot of fun Phil Fondacaro steals the movie whenever on screen Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Dull and strange. The characters are awful, the story is bland, and the puppets aren't too good. The caged rock band was a stupid idea, and both the endings the film had were awful. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Yes I can't believe it either but Band still somehow manages to make yet more killer doll flicks without anyone saying hey! haven't we done this before?!. This doll flick is pretty much the same as 'Puppet Master' accept the dolls are much more detailed, extreme looking, twisted and bizarre but also really decent looking too. The whole film is kinda off the wall or more like a twisted fairytale as the dolls are controlled by a villain with a normal human body but he has a shrunken head (think 'Beetlejuice') that actually looks good I must admit. His main henchman is a human version of 'Jack Attack' from 'Demonic Toys'...basically a big guy with clown face paint on which was a little disturbing I guess. All this and a sexy girl rock band imprisoned in a large cage for his amusement...sweet. The plot is...again...a bad guy using the dolls to kill for his own evil plans. A few different plot twists here and there buts its the usual thing really, not much else that can be done I guess. To be frank its just a chance for Band to make another puppet film with a new fun set of killer dolls, that's all, much like 'Doll Graveyard'. Its competent and solid as a doll horror, doesn't look cheap and nasty which is a bonus and the characters are good fun. Problem is its been done to death by now, by the same man numerous times.
