David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a fun premise that's employed to mostly lackluster effect by John Grissmer... Rated: 2/4 Nov 2, 2020 Full Review C.H. Newell Father Son Holy Gore One of the purest '80s horrors- from its look and feel, to the blood red colour of the credits and title, to the cheesy but awesome gore effects, to the creepy Freudian plot. Audience Member Its not cranberry sauce. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member With this movie, I found it on the shelf while I was on one of my trips and wanted to find a good cheesey retro horror movie. When I watched it I pretty much got just that, but it's not a great movie. In the way of fun and hanging out with your friends or just relaxing and watching it on your own it's pretty good; especilly fun. But there are a lot of problems with it, concept is good but the effects are terrible and some of the acting and story feel rather lack lustre; like it doesn't really need to be there but they forced it there to make the movie longer. Most of it was fun though. 1 to 10 system, it is about a 6/10. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Not bad slasher. It has great gore, and the acting manages to be downright funny at times. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Shot entirely on location in Jacksonville, Florida, the authentically cheesy apartment complex setting provides a perfect backdrop for this late-period slasher. An undeniable sense of fun permeates Blood Rage; something sorely missing from most modern horror movies. While totally lacking suspense, heaping helpings of over-the-top gore and winking dialogue lend this film an air of instant likability and charm that's sure to please genre fans to no end. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member lmao this movie is trash but I appreciate the effort. the gore is cheesy af but it gets the job done if you know what i'm saying. very 80s with a plot that could be good if the movie wasn't schlock. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member If you're into whats now seen as "cheesy" slasher movies, then this has all right ingredients. The continuous 707 drum kicks, extreme gore, naff acting, terrible timing and creepy synth sounds will certainly satisfy. If you're looking for sophisticated horror then you should avoid. If you love all the aesthetics and cliches that make an 80s slasher then you're in for a treat. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
