Julian Salina (Brad Davis), a naval engineer, is the son of Italian-American immigrants. Years ago, his father (Michael V. Gazzo) received favorable treatment from the Sicilian Mafia, and now they're demanding a favor in return. Julian's distant cousin, Giuliano (Tony Lo Bianco), an honest judge in Sicily, is proving a thorn in the side of organized crime, and a terrifying Mafioso, Mark (Vincent Spano), gives Julian an ultimatum: either he kills his cousin or the mob kills his father.
