With not only Melvin’s Jamaican family, but also the inclusion of characters of African descent, the film exhibits the multiculturalism of Black London that isn’t often shown onscreen. Go to Full Review

A charismatic cast inject some sparkle, but the contrived plotting and thin characterisation take some of the shine off this festive bauble. Go to Full Review

L. F Sep 26 The romance element was ok, but the comedy was sadly lacking. There were so many distractions to the plot! It was extremely disjointed and not well paced as a film. While it was refreshing to see a Carribean-British family at the heart of a rom-com, much of the acting lacked subtly, meaning that the characters ended up feeling like a collection of stereotypes. I was looking for a new festive film to watch every year, sadly this isn't it. See more James G 08/31/2024 Almost walked out to be honest. I couldn't follow along with half of it. See more Larissa S 04/09/2022 I can't say enough good things about this movie! Go watch it! See more tom m 01/11/2022 Moderately entertaining. Some of the dialogue was hard to understand with thick English/Caribbean accents and rapid speech. The story was somewhat romcom-predictable. See more 01/06/2022 The movie was refreshing and funny! A great Rom-Com to snuggle up with a glass of wine, popcorn and enjoy! See more 12/27/2021 If you can see it in a London cinema you become part of it. Hands down Film of the year. Also a new Christmas film that's worthy of every rewatch See more Read all reviews
