03/21/2021 This movie wants to be quirky, as the same quirky soundtrack plays repeatedly throughout. Unfortunately, it is a disjointed, predictable, not-based-in-reality movie. There didn't seem to be a plot line that made you want to see what would happen next, or even truly see what the point of each scene was, as one scene led to the next without much coherence. The characters seemed contrived and shallow without much understanding as to why they made the decisions they did. Humor seemed forced, like the running gag of Charlie calling his roommate Bruce for a ride on numerous occasions, only to see Charlie waiting for a bus in the very next scene. Long before the end of the movie, I already knew what was going to happen, but frankly didn't care. It is super funny, touching and too real at times. It's great to see Arturo Castro and Aya Cash play different characters than what I'm used to seeing and killing it.
