Although Maglietta's appealing as Rosalba, cowriter and director Silvio Scoldini's movie is a little too shopworn and pokey to be more than a respectable European diversion. Go to Full Review

sdjfk 10/23/2022 What a great film! It is great to see real Italy in the film instead of fake Hollywood. See more 02/25/2020 An adorable yet quirky love story. One of my favorites. See more 04/05/2019 Charming and uplifting! I loved it. See more 07/25/2017 Lovely movie which makes one happy. Maglietta is pretty in a wonderful matronly way and her smile makes some of the things she does acceptable. On first watching I didn't notice that she was always breaking things, a trope that I could have done without. I kept wanting to scream at her, but all that stuff down that you've got in your hands before trying to do things, but maybe that's the point. She needs to drop her old life. Wonderful quotes from Orlando Furioso, which every Westerner should know. Bruno Ganz is appealing and you can see what she sees in him.
