Audience Member Not a terrible Thirties Rom-Com, with an opening scene they must have shoe-horned past the Hayes Code censors. Miss Stanwyck does a good job in an RKO production-line B-film you've never heard of. The second act is rather weak compared to the first act setup which leads the viewer to expect a better scripted conclusion than we get. Honorable mention goes to Miss Farrell as the 3rd leg of the love triangle and to Eric Blore as the manservant. But this comedy became infected my a mood of mean spiritedness and the characters became unlikable at times. A few cute scenes here & there but my favourite would have to be the boxing scene it's just simply well staged & works. Although it is a little run of the mill there is clearly a charm to it. Incredibly that the same year she made this in 1937 & she made her career defining performance in Stella Dallas, Stanwyck is a force to be reckoned with on screen.
