Inspired by real-life events, Brides follows two alienated British Muslim teenagers, Doe and Muna, who leave the UK for Syria in search of belonging, freedom, and purpose. Instead of offering a simplistic tale of radicalization, the film delivers a deeply empathetic and complex portrait of girlhood, friendship, and alienation in modern Britain.

Kevin Maher The Times (UK) Fall is an instinctive visual storyteller, the two leads have a winning chemistry, and the location shooting in Istanbul is vivid and authentic. Just a shame the film is less so. Rated: 2/5 Sep 30, 2025 Full Review Kate Stables Sight & Sound This is a film about friendship, not fanaticism – a ride-or-die friendship, which saved the girls in the hostile UK, but which jeopardises them as the stakes get higher. Sep 26, 2025 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian Perhaps some of the narrative tension flags between their arrival in Turkey and then the all-important border, but this is a well-acted, spirited piece. Rated: 3/5 Sep 25, 2025 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall A thorny situation is explored with sensitivity and deeply personal emotions in this impressive debut from British director Nadia Fall. Rated: 4/5 Sep 24, 2025 Full Review Dillon Gonzales Geek Vibes Nation Nadia Fall has crafted a heartbreaking feature debut with Brides. The experience of viewing this movie is like watching a car crash in slow motion you are powerless to stop. Rated: 7/10 Aug 24, 2025 Full Review Stefania Sarrubba The Skinny Brides attempts to fill the gaps and find some shreds of empathy in sensationalised news stories, striking a chord with tenderness and levity. Maisy G Empathetic, thought-provoking, and well acted. Safiyya Ingar's performance really stood out to me. I'd definitely recommend it, but I do wish it went more in depth on how specifically Doe got radicalised, how did she find the man who offered to take her and Muna to Syria, etc. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/26/25 Full Review Stephen C Success in 1 hour and 33 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
