Guy Lodge Variety Sets up a familiarly dysfunctional family reunion, only to make several surprising switches in tone. Jan 29, 2018 Full Review Vladan Petkovic Cineuropa The three main actors' performances... keep the film engaging and help it connect with the audience. Sep 16, 2020 Full Review Julia Swift My Champlain Valley Moving, funny and so real it will make you want to reach out to your own family, Butterflies is a film that makes you feel, think and laugh until you cry. Go see this movie. Rated: 10 Mar 24, 2019 Full Review Rachel Wagner rachelsreviews.net It was very funny... but it also has a lot of heart. Rated: A- Feb 26, 2019 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest Butterflies feels as airy as the village it's set in, yet still packs a punch in showing how the distance between a family can make people as foreign to one another as how far away they may live. Aug 28, 2018 Full Review Matthew Roe Film Threat Overall, Butterflies does have a lot going for it, and will be a strong enough emotional and inspirational experience for most; though it will be hard for some to see past the heavy-handed theming and frayed logical throughlines. sally g Hilarious and poignant. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Hiç kimse role olmamış, Bartu ve Serkan abi dışında. Bi de Ercan Kesal abimiz müthiş tabi, rolü kısa da olsa. İzlerken güzel, vakit geçiyor, ama bitince ne bileyim... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Although it may feel like you are watching an absurd skit that resembles the trend in the Turkish comedies sometimes and the first few scenes may feel unnecessarily lengthy, the movie is successful in making us delve into the conflicts of and between the characters. However, in the end, the viewer has to be aware of a classic postmodern ending, where the final scene does not necessarily have to mean something so much that you may feel out of the movie. Although it is not necessarily a bad thing, the two hours of quality time deserves a better ending than this. Nevertheless, the ending contributes to the final shot, where our characters have finally resolved their conflicts. Definitely a good representation of the modern Turkish cinema. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member It is an original "on the road" movie with some Anatolian odor and family relations spices... loved it! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Slapstick with serious family plot line. Left smiling. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member overproduced, perpetuates stereotypes, loud and angry, cliche family story, bad CGI.
