A film that takes a sensitive rather than exploitive look at bullying. Alex Kersting develops real empathy and is aided by some carefully balanced supporting work from Mira Sorvino and Mykelti Williamson.

Though I have not read the source novel I can only hope it explores the topic with greater nuance. Nevertheless, the overall package works. Kersting is endlessly appealing, and his presence makes it all better.

Butter (An obese boy) decide to commit suicide by eating a lot in live streaming and suddenly become the most popular person of the school. Very disappointing movie. Doesn't focus on the real problem and deviate on parties and untrue situations.

Talk about an offbeat movie! I really wasn't sure going into it, but I'm glad I gave this film a chance. The lead was excellent as was Mira Sorvino. Very well done and it also made a strong statement about just how damaging bullying can be.

Going in I was hyped beyond all relief. And this film delivered on every one of those wishes. What more could you want in a movie? Butter is exactly what I want in more modern movies. Not just comedies, but dramas as well. Highly recommend.
