Pathetic b It is everything I love about Japanese storytelling. Bringing some light into the dark. Variety, depth, good tempo, surprise, room for breathing. I think the character of Chihiro is played quite ghostly and I was afraid of something like this, a kind of messianic aura, something far to etheral, a little too obvious creative decision that often does not cooperate well with, what are in the end, human stories to be told. But it was not like that in the end. Thank god. And I was even extremely impressed how this changes over time. Very good acting all around. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/24 Full Review Ana O Very beautiful and delicate film! Actress Kasumi Arimura is very talented and charismatic. I cried a lot with the film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/08/24 Full Review x k tells the story of someone who, even at the end of his life, actually still has a glimmer of light, because pure thoughts and days can give warmth to all aspects, especially loneliness itself, begitu hangat. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/30/23 Full Review Pavendax S It feels relaxing and quiet, but at the same time it can give a lot of emotions. This is probably the movie I would recommend everyone to watch, its just perfect. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review Steve O Sex sells - foreign films drag - took too long to complete the message but worth the wait. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Esra Y Movie has an easy, peaceful atmosphere. Doesn't ignore characters trauma but don't dwell on them to be overwhelming either. Goes well after an exhausting day while resting. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Pieter-Jan Van Haecke Psychocinematography While Call Me Chihiro can not be counted among Imaizumi’s best, he still delivers an engaging exploration of the subjective struggle to escape loneliness. Nov 17, 2023 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse A touching and meaningful movie that is well worth watching for its exploration of human connections and the power of forming deep relationships outside of blood ties, as much as a masterclass on how to adapt manga on the big screen. Rated: 7 May 21, 2023 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews A slow-paced humanitarian film, showing the values of family life and of having compassion as highly valued traits. Rated: C+ Mar 20, 2023 Full Review Fred Barrett In Review Online As far as Netflix originals go, one could do a lot worse than this warm-hearted, empathetic, and yes, occasionally uneventful and saccharine slice-of-life drama. Mar 6, 2023 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media Yes, the "sex worker with a heart of gold" story is as old as time, but this variation on the theme comes across as wholly original. Rated: 4/5 Mar 1, 2023 Full Review John Serba Decider The film’s airiness can be both comforting and frustrating; sometimes Imaizumi seems to be aiming for profound reticence, and lands on inertness. But the breezy tone isn’t insubstantial... Feb 28, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
