Marrow G Pure brilliance,a corrupt government swindling the people as per normal,a totally outdated undemocratic solution government really is. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/22 Full Review Audience Member Filmmaker Michael Moore directs this documentary on how capitalism has damaged the working class and is quickly ruining America. As with all of Moore's documentaries, they're very sensational, compelling and entertaining. A lot of interesting facts help with his narrative. It's a tad long but it's certainly never boring. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review dave s Never one to embrace objectivity or shy away from letting you know how he really feels about things, Michael Moore tackles the evils of capitalism in Capitalism: A Love Story, possibly his most impactful documentary since Roger and Me. Focusing (and justly so) on Wall Street corruption and the insidious influence the banking industry has on America's Congress, Moore sets aim on the failed American Dream, where everyone is taught that they can be part of the 1% if they just try a bit harder, and corporate greed, where having too much is still not enough. Capitalism: A Love Story is filled with tragedy, humor, remarkable insights, and a surprising amount of emotion. Whether you agree with Moore or not, there is no denying that this is powerful stuff and, as a bonus, wildly entertaining. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Mike J No no no not my Moore capitalism is good Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/30/22 Full Review rafael z It is a documentary that makes a correct critique of Capitalism. But the "solution" is supposed to be Socialism and Democracy, which is ridiculous: Those two are also part of the problem. He uses Catholic priests to confirm his far-left aspirations, forgetting that the Church supports something like Distributism, Tradition, Minarchism, Hierarchy and Discipline: Which even in the documentary is noticeable that this is what is lacking in American Society. The enemies of the common people are the State and the Market; Not one or the other. Distributism with its cooperativism being a much better idea. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Michael Moore at his best. The dubbed Jesus-as-capitalist scene using an old Jesus film is hilarious. Tony Rayns Sight & Sound Inevitably, this is tricked out with Moore's all-too-familiar stunts... all of them subject to the (capitalist?) law of diminishing returns. Jul 10, 2018 Full Review Damon Wise Empire Magazine A barbed study of the American economy puts capitalism in the dock but somehow fails to convict. Rated: 3/5 Feb 26, 2010 Full Review Ben Walters Time Out The thesis that rapacious capitalism has horrific social consequences is credible and well illustrated, if hardly eye-opening to European viewers. Rated: 3/5 Feb 26, 2010 Full Review Amir Rizwan emel It is the human stories Moore covers which provide the most engrossing and emotional scenes within the documentary. Jul 21, 2021 Full Review David Walsh World Socialist Web Site To the extent that Moore believes the ahistorical, eclectic views he espouses in Capitalism: A Love Story, he is deluding himself. To the extent that he attempts to sell them to a broad audience, he is deluding others. Feb 13, 2021 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Moore invokes his trademark brand of biting humor, creative editing, and a little grandstanding pizzazz.
