Personally, I think this is a very underrated sci-fi offering. Whilst it takes some time to get into, it takes an interesting and innovative approach towards the whole idea of insurrection against an oppressive and overwhelming authoritarian regime, without the unnecessary use of 'high drama', CGI action packed scenes, which are increasingly overdone (IMHO) in so many sci-fi films. However, it has the complexity of plot to mean that a lot of 'casual' sci-fi film goers will probably find it slow and difficult to engage with. The aliens and alien tech are both novel and also accessible, whilst also being credible, especially in our inability to understand how some of them work. It deserves better recognition and is worth taking the time to watch.
