Audience Member Eleanor Abernathy come to life Rated 3/5 Stars •  Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member As an aspiring crazy cat lady I was keen to see this, it is a well put together film chronicling the day to day lives of a diverse group of 'cat ladies' and what motivates them. The material is a little shallow, in that is doesn't push the subjects very far and doesn't delve into ramifications too far but it is a very interesting film. Cat Ladies follows a number of "crazy cat ladies", and looks at their lives. One thing that is obvious is that these are all very lonely and sad women. Whether they grew up in America speaking German just after the war, had abusive parents, or were adopted into an overachieving family. All these women became outcasts and used their cats as a way to escape. Some are harmless enough, with just a few cats, and others make it their duty to capture cats and let them overrun their homes. Again some want a way out of this life, and some can't see themselves living any other way. Showing the different characters details that there is not one way to become like this,but perhaps more human interaction would help. A great soundtrack and not judgmental.
