J M This is a mixed bag for me. Lynch has her father David's eye for creating an eerie atmosphere and unusual characters. The house where Rabbit is held captive becomes a character unto itself. And the beginning parts of the film are truly unsettling. D'Onofrio is an ideal actor for this type of role although I felt some inconsistencies in his performance. But his scenes with the actors playing younger and older Rabbit feel authentic and painful. The trouble is that it feels like there's nowhere to go with the story after a while. We are introduced to the characters and understand the dilemma, but the screenwriter doesn't know what to do with them. We are also burdened with a couple moments that stretch credibility including one of the most love-it-or-hate-it climaxes that I've ever seen - and I despised it. It's dark and depressing and ultimately feels like a missed opportunity for something truly memorable. That being said, there are lots of good qualities here that make this a close call. - Jeff Marshall, Movie Blogger (Facebook) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Audience Member SO CREEPY AND SO DEMENTED. Which equals GREAT FILM! I was creeped out from the start and it kept me on the edge of my seat! And a bonus it was filmed in Regina and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where I live!! Great acting and awesome twist! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/24 Full Review Pkersh The serial killer Vincent D'Onofrio was spot on with the acting. You have to give the little kid (Evan Bird) and the grown up kid (Eamon Farren) some credit on the good emotional acting as well. I actually will agree with the critics on this film compared to the audience. Critics gave it a 65% I would give it around 70-75%. It is a very disturbing movie and if you you are too grossed out or disturbed about what the serial killer does before killing them, you will not like it. Although I was disturbed, I could handle it. I gave it 3.5 stars though because there was a MASSIVE twist at the end that I didn't see coming. It was a sad although good twist. After the twist though, the ending didn't compliment it. The ending left you wondering what the kid would do in the future. I usually give movies more worse of a rating when there isn't a definite end to a movie. Nevertheless, if you won't be too disturbed and don't mind movies that leave you wondering what will happen next, I recommend it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/29/23 Full Review bryan m Was it the best movie ever? no. But overall I definitely recommend it. had me on the edge of my seat with a couple of twists I did not see coming. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/23 Full Review Jay D I endured the painful setup of innocent women getting murdered in hopes that there would be an interesting psychological exploration of how the young boy's spirit was able to overcome such horrendous circumstances, and hopefully his triumph eventually. Although there was a faint glimmer of this later in the movie, it wasn't worth the pain of watching Bob commit his atrocities. As the movie closed with its dark little twist at the end and no indication of a redemption arc for 'Rabbit', I once again was asking myself why I spent an hour and a half of my life only to come away feeling dark and depressed. Way to go Hollywood. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/06/23 Full Review Kendra G Holy moly was this movie GOOD!!! I was NOT expecting it to be as good as it was. My husband and I watched it together. We saw that it had 4 1/2 stars so gave it a shot. It's 5 star worthy with a BIG twist at the end! It's graphic and gory but over all GOOD Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
