Cary Darling Houston Chronicle it's an efficiently made and routine police action-drama that has some effective moments but doesn't add up to anything that hasn't been done many times before. Rated: 2.5/5 Jun 6, 2019 Full Review Richard Kuipers Variety For shootouts, explosions and tough talk, "Wild Bunch" has plenty to please action fans. Jun 6, 2019 Full Review Elizabeth Kerr The Hollywood Reporter A goofier, more focused step up from it predecessor. Jun 5, 2019 Full Review Wilson Kwong easternKicks.com In the end, what this sequel ultimately demonstrates is that Wong Jing continues to be capable of sound commercial filmmaking, albeit when he has a directing partner. Feb 12, 2022 Full Review John Tan The New Paper (Singapore) Leung's Logan brings an admirable amount of camp, making him the most entertaining character in the film Rated: 3/5 Jun 14, 2019 Full Review Richard Yu Cinema Escapist While on its own the film is no doubt a solid action flick, the way that it deviates from the [first film in the series] makes it particularly relevant in a Hong Kong struggling with its relationship with the mainland. Audience Member A little bit too crazy for the movie. May be I am affected by the "Trivia" by Johnnie To few years ago for the image of the Big Robber. It showed the time of pre 97's. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member While it might not have the best script (read: cliched), Chasing The Dragon II is at least fun, has a stellar cast with memorable performances and is entertaining right up to its action-packed film. Unfortunately, being a Wong Jing movie, women are merely either sexual objects or honey traps used by the main villain to ensnare his victims. Despite this rather conservative take, it remains a good film, and certainly better than most Louis Koo films of the year. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Tan T It was good, a return to forms for Wong JIng. Tony Leung was over the top good as the gangster.
