j F Lantern was excellent, the story uplifting. It might be too slow for some, but it is a testament to people who try to help others. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Audience Member As soon as it was over, I had to watch it again. It's subtle but raw. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I can't remember the last time I was left this moved by a movie. Contemplative, sincere, uncomfortably honest, tragic, healing. A powerful film about perseverance and faith no matter the cards you hold. It wakes you to the self-inflicted paralysis (or triumph) of your own will - without room for excuse. The melancholic pick me up I didn't know I needed. One of my new all-time favourites. Watch it! 🍿 "I don't know why some people suffer drought longer than others, but the rain always comes eventually. And when it does, the desperate, barren, thirsty earth quenches itself in a way that the lush, green earth could never imagine or understand. And I have to live in this tension because that is where the fire is." Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I cannot recommend this movie more. There are wonderful moments of laughter and tears, with deep, thought provoking themes. Yes, it is about suffering, and Chasing the Rain does not tie things up in a neat little bow. What it does do is show that even in the darkest of times, there is hope. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Watch. This. Movie. 1. Written, directed, AND produced by a woman! 💪🏻 GO CINDY. We need more women in Hollywood. 2. The white guy doesn't save the day. I love the roles given to people of color in this film. 3. Honest and raw look at suffering and why some people seem to suffer more than others. I SO appreciate that this film doesn't shove pat answers, guilt trips, or stupid cliches down your throat. I have cared for a special needs child, who died in 2008 at the age of 8, and I have zero tolerance for bullshit. This movie made me laugh and cry in very healing ways. 4. Napolean-Dynamite-esque humor. And Steve the Boss's character is hilarious in a very "The Office" way. 5. Amazing storytelling in this extremely low-budget film category. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved it. I was moved to tears in more than one place by it. The storyline was so deeply complex and rich and the characters enhanced the depth of the story. For anyone who has ever wondered if they were truly all alone, this movie is eye opening about the ways we are always surrounded by people who care, we just need to be willing to see them. Honestly this was an amazing movie~ if you get a chance to watch it, do it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
