verne v Boring AF i couldnt get through half of it. This also starts to get creepy, fast. And not the good kind. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/30/23 Full Review Roy V The storyline didn't make any sense. However, the primary characters dodged the sketchiness and pulled it from its trap. They were able to make something from nothing in this awkward coming of Age movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/29/23 Full Review Sean M Actually pretty good! Would certainly give it a watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review dan m Sort of a modern day indie version of The Graduate. Well acted, interesting, and no conveniently wrapped up happy ending. Can't really ask for more than that.. well, some of the side characters were a bit on the hammy/cheesy side. That's my only gripe here. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Glad it's obvious Britt was not a young teen in this movie, otherwise that would be a little weird. Kimberley Jones Austin Chronicle Despite some tonal inconsistencies and ill-fitting stabs at whimsy, all-around good performances, Fine's snappy script, and Michael Hoskins' original illustrations elevate Cherry into a sensitively felt and fundamentally sweet coming-of-age pic. Sep 26, 2011 Full Review Jesse Cataldo Slant Magazine The film heaps on events and obstacles far too liberally for its skimpy frame. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 7, 2010 Full Review Kyle Smith New York Post An attempted mashup of "Gilmore Girls" and "The Graduate," "Cherry" fails to be either raunchy or sweet. Rated: 1/4 Nov 5, 2010 Full Review Charles Ealy Austin American-Statesman Why's it special? Partly because of the performances. Partly because of the depth of characterization. Partly because of assured direction. Sep 26, 2011 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru A smart, funny, genuinely heartfelt and uplifting coming-of-age story. Rated: 8.72/10 Nov 6, 2010 Full Review Peter Keough Boston Phoenix Fine resolves this ménage with taste and integrity, and also with humor and genuine feeling.
