June Carter C This is a charming little movie for little kids and some funny Norm Macdonald lines for adults! 5 out of 5! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/20/22 Full Review Audience Member I watched this Christmas Day because I felt like watching something Christmassy. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but at first I was excited by names I recognized, like "Andy Griffith" and "Jay Leno." As I then learned, I think they were riding heavily on those names. The animation was spectacular, and the story concept itself wasn't bad. I struggled between a 2 and a 3, but the site generously allows me to give it a 2.5 rating. Despite the big names, some of the voice acting leaves quite a bit to be desired. It's passable, but there are many points where you can't help but get this nagging feel like the voice actor's tone, inflection and statement of the phrase doesn't quite fit what's going on. In addition, the execution of the story itself could have been better, with less "unexplained" stark changes. Some of the characters change so dramatically without explanation it just seems odd, if even creepy and disingenuous. However, the worst part of this movie, and honestly the biggest detractor from my score, is its attempt at songs, of which there are several. I can't really describe just how bad the songs were. I could have written better lyrics, and that's saying something. The music was great, but the words and dialog felt like the writers had just given up and said, "Okay, these words rhyme. We'll stick them in there." I have never, ever, ever actually felt a lack of effort in a song before, and here it was awful. My Little Pony episodes have better lyrics than this show did. On the one hand you could say "they were writing for little kids," but if I were a little kid watching this, I'd still have been turned off. The songs felt empty, endlessly repetitive, and frankly bland. If this song had better dialog and better songwriting where it felt like they had actually cared about what they were doing, I'd give this movie a much higher rating. As it is, it might pass as a slight distraction for your really little kids, with jarring nod to the Baby Jesus that could have been better integrated. You yourself will probably experience pain. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member The dumbest Christmas movie I have ever seen. The plot makes no sense and borrows parts of Christmas stories from the birth of Jesus, but then adds a "devil" named Cragg or something like that. They sing a really weird and creepy song called santa's sak- it makes me cringe. The cast is star studded, but the story is confusing and weird. We never know for example, why the girl has a cane. It's weird. I wish Netflix would remove it so I don't have to see it ever again. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member It wasn't your norm and sure had some unexpected negativity but my 4 year old loved it and I enjoyed watching it with her! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member luv how it's about santa & Jesus<3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought this was pretty lame. There were a few funny lines from the polar bear, but mostly a very average movie. It is nowhere near the other Christmas classics. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
