Sister S Cicada Song is a very intriguing mystery/ thriller... that keeps you engaged and on your toes until the very end. Skillfully directed by Mike Starr- Cicada Song features beautiful cinematography, solid performances, great locations and a taunt and sensitive script that delves into timely, important social issues while remaining entertaining and suspenseful. The production value is great! This felt like a much bigger film and Missouri is a beautiful backdrop. Hats off to everyone involved in the production. Truly enjoyed watching... and recommend it highly. Can't wait to see what is next for Mike Starr! He is on my radar! This indie of gem of a film... touches on many current issues that are socially relevant! Michael Starr, the writer, wrote on heck of a terrific story!! It was such a refreshing twist on the typical thriller/mystery suspense movie. The plot nimbly maneuvers from serene, country settings and characters full of everyday life pleasantries to something wicked brewing underneath the surface. Not everything is as it appears...The writing and directing by Michael Starr has allowed the characters to be intelligent with real-life struggles and moral dilemmas usually lacking in thriller movies. The acting is terrific and each actor's performance contributes perfectly to the plot that will keep you in suspense until the bitter end. Don't miss this gem of a movie - definitely worth the watch!
