What to Know

Critics Consensus

Cirque Du Soleil loses its sense of wonder when bottled for the screen, with Worlds Away's shapeless story and relentless spectacle feeling hollow when divorced from the theatrical experience.

Deborah Ross The Spectator Soaringly pointless. No point to it whatsoever. I looked. I looked everywhere for a point, even under my cinema seat. But I came up empty-handed. It's 90 minutes of sheer, total, utter pointlessness. Sep 4, 2018 Full Review Larushka Ivan-Zadeh metro.co.uk The movie version of Cirque Du Soleil comes alive when the troupe are showing off their stunts - it's just a shame about the bits in between. Rated: 3/5 Sep 1, 2017 Full Review Roxana Hadadi Punch Drunk Critics The biggest flaw of Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away is that it's not really a movie at all. It's more like a super-long commercial for the Canadian entertainment company. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 9, 2017 Full Review Nour Habib Tulsa World Beauty can capture an audience's attention, but stories are still what hold it. Feb 3, 2017 Full Review Dave White Movies.com ...it's a tourism brochure, a very long, very sparkly infomercial for one-handed pushups... Rated: 2.5/5 Mar 18, 2013 Full Review Jim Schembri 3AW Designed as pure confection for the eyes, this largely wordless fare is perfect for kids (how many G-rated films are there around?) and for any stressed-out office worker eager for something to unwind to. I hope to see it sometime while Anton is still in it. Hopefully it makes it into the arena next year! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review nilufer e An amazing show with wonderful soundtrack, extraordinary costumes and breath-taking performances. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I am a huge fan of Cirque du Soleil and always enjoy watching any of their DVDs. I gave it 4.5 stars because of lack of English subtitles for anyone especially Deaf and Hard of Hearing people who wants to watch it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member there were a lot of interesting acts, but this didn't jump to the top of my favorites list. i wouldn't discourage from seeing, tho. it's still beautiful.
