Sean Burns Crooked Marquee 'Cisco Pike' will never be confused with a well-plotted picture, but it’s an especially effective portrait of a time and place. Jul 12, 2024 Full Review D.M. Palmer Vague Visages Cisco Pike is a meditation on failure at all levels; defeat was in the air and no stratum of society was exempt. Relationships founder, institutions are corrupt, success is illusory. This defeat is symbolised most powerfully by Pike’s guitar case... Nov 9, 2023 Full Review LAFP Staff Los Angeles Free Press The filming is faultless, the images redolent with the flesh of our lives, a slice of our real life made into reel life. Jan 9, 2020 Full Review Dick Lochte Los Angeles Free Press A fascinating slice of sub-culture L.A. Dec 31, 2019 Full Review Scott Weinberg DVDTalk.com Low-key and quiet, Cisco Pike is more or less a "forgotten" piece of 70's cinema, which is precisely why I jumped into the thing with both feet. Dom L An underrated 70's flick, which has a lazy, meandering vibe that ultimately pulls you in. 70's LA captured in a unique way. Hackman excellent as always. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/26/24 Full Review Audience Member Strongest when showcasing the colorful, bygone urban landscapes of a now mostly forgotten version of Los Angeles, Cisco Pike at times resembles the easygoing California hangout films of its time, but thanks to strong supporting performances by Gene Hackman and Harry Dean Stanton, writer/director Bill Norton is able to craft his own darkly comical tale of sex, drugs, and rock & roll that never ends up feeling overly familiar or stale. And while Kris Kristofferson's acting and musical styles can come across as a little stiff and somewhat lifeless, his distinctive voice and screen presence are a good match for the loopy, laid back vibe Norton is going for. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review delysid d this was alright but it couldve used alot more hackman and less kris Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/31/18 Full Review Audience Member A perceptive and lyrical tale of a counter culture dope pusher in sixties Venice Beach. The acting is confident and habours the grit of authenticity. Kristofferson and Hackman are excellent and the locations and sets transport you back in time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A nice little piece of obscure '70s grit and realism. Fantastic performances all around. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Seen 23.07.2010. Good music! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
