Audience Member I wasn't familiar with any of the actors in this film or the people behind the camera of this Shaw Brothers film, but it was a surprisingly quality production with a better than average story. The "Embroidery Bandit" has been stealing treasures and blinding his victims, so the martial arts hero of the film is called in to solve the mystery. The Amazons part of the English title comes in when the hero begins to suspect the all-woman Clan of the Red Shoes. The fight scenes are well done if not particularly memorable, but the story was clever and different from the standard three or four martial arts film stories that usually get recycled over and over again.
