And actually, we do get to know him quite well, his drive, his passion, his unparalleled vision, and his uncompromising commitment to musical artistry. I was floored. It is beautifully done, well-paced and edited, informative, entertaining, and unexpectedly candid. Back in the day, I wasn't aware that Mr. Davis was the force behind some of my favorite stars--Aretha Franklin, Blood Sweat & Tears, Sly & the Family Stone, Earth Wind & Fire, Whitney Houston, and Luther Vandross.
