Aldis H I get how some reviewers give bad reviews because we really don't get to know the man that well, but the title of the film is the THEME of the film; it's about how Clive was the soundtrack of our lives, not who he was, and in that regard it delivers with flying colors. And actually, we do get to know him quite well, his drive, his passion, his unparalleled vision, and his uncompromising commitment to musical artistry. I was floored. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/16/23 Full Review StephenPaul C The greatest 02 hours: and 03 minutes of real footage with Clive Davis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought it was a great look into the life of this legend and all the music stars that he produced in his time along with some insight into his personal life Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This extraordinary, must see documentary is a treasure. It gave me an in-depth look at the genius mind of Clive Davis, his life, his creative process, and how he started the careers of so many stars. He is the heart and soul of music! I highly recommend this purchase. -Washington Flowers Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member The Soundtrack of Our Lives is amazing on the big screen. It is beautifully done, well-paced and edited, informative, entertaining, and unexpectedly candid. Back in the day, I wasn't aware that Mr. Davis was the force behind some of my favorite stars--Aretha Franklin, Blood Sweat & Tears, Sly & the Family Stone, Earth Wind & Fire, Whitney Houston, and Luther Vandross. Now, I have a bigger story to accompany the music I still love; and, it makes me want to learn even more. Just call me a life-long finger-snapper! Frankie D Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Detailed and thoughtfully told story of one of the music industry's true living legends. Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times An eye-opening, not to mention ear-opening, experience. Sep 26, 2017 Full Review Andy Webster New York Times A valedictory for Mr. Davis, the music executive whose Midas touch with radio hits across genres - especially at Arista Records, from 1975-2000 - is industry legend. Sep 26, 2017 Full Review John DeFore Hollywood Reporter A fawning but informative primer for music lovers with, er, very broad tastes. May 5, 2017 Full Review Graeme Tuckett Stuff.co.nz A fantastic yarn, with an unmissable soundtrack. May 24, 2021 Full Review Liz Thomson The Arts Desk It's an extraordinary two-hour tale of a man with great ears and a passion to match who fell into a business he'd never even considered. Rated: 4/5 Apr 13, 2020 Full Review Benjamin H.
