Nick F Review by Nick Fletcher Coast Of Skeletons is a solid if at times ponderous 1960s adventure film with British stalwart Richard Todd an insurance investigator on the trail of a shady American tycoon, played by Dale Robertson. Todd turns in his usual dependable performance but doesnt really pull off the action-man role. His victory over a tough gang of crewmen in one of the early scenes is totally unconvincing. The West African scenery is stunning and the plot about an attempt to steal gold from a sunken ship is promising yet there is often too much talking and too little action. Tighter directing and sharper editing would have lifted this film from humdrum adventure to something more engaging and more memorable. As it is, it just about passes as adequate entertainment for a rainy afternoon. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review Read all reviews
