Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times Focusing on the lack of women in technology, CodeGirl seeks to make a difference by offering a positive representation of entrepreneurial girls excelling in the field. Nov 16, 2015 Full Review John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter However polished the doc's tech and score, it simply doesn't find drama in this familiar template. Nov 16, 2015 Full Review Inkoo Kang TheWrap The documentary grows to feel like a parent describing their daughter's involvement in an international competition. The girls' achievements are impressive, but you definitely don't want to hear about them for nearly two hours. Audience Member I wish more time was spent on the individual motivations and hurdles behind learning and developing their apps, rather than the prep for the contest. A film centered around tech's disparities should spend more time on that. Despite that, I really enjoyed the film and watching the girls' vision take shape. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is inspiring because it provides a positive way to address the issue of "lack of diversity in the tech world." These young girls have to overcome alot of things to be able to do something that adults can't do. Compared to other documentaries on this topic, I enjoyed this the best because it give you hope and a concrete way to solve this problem. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Inspiring and well done! Love this movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Awesome Documentary! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A compelling documentary about young people (specifically, women) trying to break into the tech startup scene, with apps and business plans and 4-minute pitches. A compelling look at young peoples' attempts to have an impact on their communities. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
