      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Largely lacking the fairytale magic it seeks to conjure, Come Away is an initially intriguing fantasy that never really takes flight.

Michelle W wonderful cast, wonderful story. original Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/16/20 Full Review Joey Gibson This was a clever and beautiful heart felt movie, the entire family will fall in love. The imagination of a child and the brilliant way that Peter Pan and Alice in wonderland are intertwined. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/16/20 Full Review Peter W Overall, this film is a mixed bag for me.  I loved the film's premise, concept, and cast.  The film's plot is bland, and I never felt entirely invested.  With a slow start and unusual pacing between scenes, Come Away is a drama film with fantasy but lacks the real magic that could have been.  Even with excellent performances, particularly from the young child actors, Come Away will undoubtedly touch hearts, but only briefly, unlike a good fairy tale. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/07/23 Full Review Ming A captivating film that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats with its gripping plot, stunning visuals, and top-notch performances from the cast. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/09/23 Full Review Ceta P Great movie, A tense and powerful thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat with its gripping story and excellent performances Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/23 Full Review Teagan C Imagery and acting were beautiful, but it did not follow a typical plot. There was no sense of resolution at the end. I was left thinking "so what happened"? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review I was really ready to be transported, and really disappointed when I wasn't. It's a real shame, because there's a lot of talent in this film but it just doesn't work. Dec 30, 2020 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) Assembled with scattershot ineptitude by the Brave director Brenda Chapman, it smacks of a Ken Loach project rebooted by Nickelodeon, but not as compelling as that sounds. Rated: 2/5 Dec 18, 2020 Full Review Ben Travis Empire Magazine It never quite tumbles into Wonderland, but the ambition at play - and a top cast of supporting players - is just enough to let Come Away off the Hook. Rated: 3/5 Dec 17, 2020 Full Review Daisy Leigh-Phippard Screen Queens A heartfelt and sweet film, Come Away cant choose what it is for long enough to execute the story. Feb 21, 2022 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...a subtle story of the redemption possible via imagination... Rated: 4/5 Feb 17, 2021 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse The remix of two classic tales, Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland, never achieves lift off as a flight of fantasy.
