"Come From Away" is the filmed version of the award-winning Broadway musical which tells the story of 7,000 people stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland after all flights into the US are grounded on September 11, 2001. As the people of Newfoundland graciously welcome the "come from aways" into their community in the aftermath, the passengers and locals alike process what's happened while finding love, laughter and new hope in the unlikely and lasting bonds that they forge.

All drama asks you to suspend disbelief, but "Come From Away" asks you also to suspend cynicism, aiming to move and uplift you. It's not a bad bargain, and "Come From Away" holds up its end.

The musical’s regional flair is still intact, with references to Tim Hortons, Roger’s Communication, and drinking Pepsis (I just wished they mentioned milk in a bag and ketchup chips). Yes, Canadian hospitality is a real thing.

Not only is Come From Away relevant in a political sense, but its heart and comforting emotion expressing that no matter how bad things get we will get through it feels perfect for the modern moment.

Having been hugely unimpressed with all of the new stage musicals I’ve seen over the past 10 years I was expecting the worst going into this, especially knowing it was related to 9/11 – how are they going to make that entertaining? Wow! What a brilliant musical, totally engaging. Heart-warming, moving and funny it moved at a great pace, always entertaining. And great to see an entirely older cast, a lot of new musical creators seemingly youth-obsessed. It would make an amazing stage to film adaptation if filmed on location in Newfoundland.

This is a very heart-warming musical based on a true event. It has some laughs and some crying moments but overall great story telling and to all the people saying it's islamphobic it's not all those were real reactions at the time it was portraying not saying.

Fantastic! Has to be a way to add stars to this thing!! So clever, funny, sad, and poignant. A cast of 12 or so playing so many roles!! Crazy good, the dialects are are extraordinary. All these different types of people…we so similar!!

I wanted to get away from come from away, it seemed very calculated, and there are the families of three thousand murder victims that are more important than some people who got inconvenienced for a few days. Hated how it went back and forth between a few lines of exposition and then a few lines of song, I prefer complete songs broken up by lengthy exposition, it was jarring. The real interesting part is that there were 7000 people/38 planes, that's a lot for a little place! Would have been much more interested in the logistics instead of the people.
