Audience Member Above average Italian made WW2 commando movie. Lots of action, decent acting, and the story doesn't ignore the absurdities of war. With a bigger budget, better cinematography, and more times spent on editing, this could have been a great movie, but the actual result is still worth watching. Rated 2.5/5 Stars •  Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review dave j Monday, September 12, 2011 (1968) Commandos DUBBED SPAGHETTI WAR During WWII and during when Mussulini was in power and fighting, a group of Italian Americans are selected to partake a dangerous mission whereas they were to take over a fort gaurded by Italian soldiers working alongside with the Nazis, and then wait for more US armed soldiers to show up! Lee Van Cleef also stars as the troubled captain! One of the major problems with Spaghetti Westerns and Spaghetti War films has alot to do with it's budget and this one is no exception whereas Sergio Leone makes scenes look very theatrically credible with it's close- ups and camera angles- this film lacks common sense with a lack of chrisma leading to predictable results! 2 out of 4 Rated 2.5/5 Stars •  Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Lee Van Cleef adds star power to this Italian film on vital Allied mission in North Africa 1942.
